There are two causes of fires at waste collection sites: external and internal. External - that is, the import of waste into Poland, and internal is the imbalanced needs of demand for waste disposal with the supply of facilities where this can be done, plus, of course, in both cases, the desire for a quick and large profit. Both causes are not a new matter, both have their roots in the relatively liberal EU law, which, in addition, in our country was applied very gently.

According to the latest data from CERT Polska (a team operating within the structures of NASK - the National Research Institute), phishing, i.e. a technique in which attackers attempt to obtain private information such as passwords, bank account numbers and personal data, is still the most frequently used method on the list of threats in the area of cybercrime in Poland. The phishing mechanism is based on impersonating trusted sources, such as banks, companies or government institutions. In 2020, 7,622 cases were reported, while in 2021, the number of phishing attempts in Poland almost tripled to 22,575 documented attempts.

Palm oil can be found in foods such as cakes and pastries, creams, ice cream, candy bars, popcorn, chips, frozen French fries, hamburger buns, ready-made pizza dough, margarines, powdered soups, cereals, infant formula and many others. It is also very widely used in the manufacture of cosmetics as an ingredient in body lotions, creams, conditioners shampoos, soaps, bath lotions, lipsticks or face primers. We may not always be aware that a food or cosmetic product contains palm oil, as manufacturers often do not indicate the exact origin of the raw material used and refer to it as 'vegetable oil'. For the sake of our health and the environment, we should limit our consumption and use of palm oil.

It was awarded in 2022 to three economists for their research on banks and financial crises. The laureates were Ben S. Bernanke, Douglas W. Diamond and Philip H. Dybvig. In justifying its decision, the Swedish Academy of Sciences wrote that the contribution of the winners' research lies in explaining why it is so important to avoid banking crises. All three have measurably increased our knowledge of the role of banks in the economy, especially during financial crises.

This year's Nobel Prize is certainly remarkable. It shows how important in the modern world are the methods of organic synthesis, allowing the production of new materials and their applications, in particular in biological systems. It has been awarded to organic chemists who are not afraid to take up new challenges and cross borders, working on the border of chemistry and biology.
